Brief Ely City vs Lakenheath report

A trademark Alfie Rogers bullet header from a Jack Friend corner in the first half, separated the two sides in a near one sided game.

Tom Stoker had a couple of half chances and Friend went close as Ely dominated.

Charlie Root in midfield was excellent and screened the back line, as Joe Brannan,

Rogers and Jacob Partridge stood up to any real Lakenheath threat. Tyler Key had to be alert to make a fine save late on but Ely saw out the game to lift themselves back into 3rd.

Next weekend see’s no first team game, but our Reserves, who beat Comberton 1-0 Saturday thanks to a Dion Badcock goal, face Hardwick at the Demcom 2pm kick off.
