Full Merger is complete with New Constitution & Election of Officers

At an historical meeting last night both Ely City,Ely Crusaders & Ely City Crusaders finally merged to become one big club.

The Club shall be named Ely City Football Club. The teams playing in the Thurlow Nunn League,Cambridgeshire County League,Thurlow Nunn Youth League & Eastern Junior Alliance will be called Ely City. The teams playing in any other Youth League shall be called Ely City Crusaders .

The object of the club shall be to provide the Members of the Club with opportunities to play football at Senior,Colts and Min League level. A genuine pathway from Aged 5 all the way through to senior football at different levels will be available.

In 2015 the first phase of the merger took place when the junior section of Ely Crusaders merged with Ely City to become Ely City Crusaders. Both clubs maintained their own separate affiliation and Crusaders also at the time retained both Adult sides as Ely Crusaders.

Since then a lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes at both clubs. The aim being to produce one of the largest football clubs in Cambridgeshire. With the City of Ely growing in population the will to make the full merger a reality even more a must was clear. It is indeed without doubt a true testimony of both sets of committees that this has now been achieved.

The club is excited about the future and this now means that as one large club it can work together to improve the current facilities and look to grow the club even further for the population of Ely

The club would like to put on record its thanks to Chris Abbott from Cambridgeshire FA for his input in this final stage of the process
